The fix is an oil & filter change and an ECU update, they say. The service manager says it's an oversensitive sensor relating to the DPF, which reports the oil has become contaminated and is putting the DPF at risk. The ECU update is supposed to reset the parameters for the sensor. Oil drop, filter & update is free, under warranty. I've just found out that this month's (May issue) Car Mechanic magazine has a whole article on the Focus 1.6 TDCi, including DPF problems. One thing in particular they mention is the pressure sensor & the hoses leading to/from the DPF. Apparently these hoses are prone to damage or getting blocked by soot. As you probably know from my previous videos I bought a 2012 Ford Focus few weeks ago. The car had few issues - one of them: bad Oxygen Sensor. In this video Ford Mondeo – (RoClickMag / Shutterstock) The most common signs of bad O2 sensor in Ford Mondeo are slow acceleration, loss of power, irregular idling, engine hesitation or jerking when accelerating, high fuel consumption, higher tailpipe emissions, foul odor from exhaust, check engine light illuminates, and sometimes stalling. I have been reading on some forums about the problems a DPF may cause but am unsure if my car has one, it is a 2.0 TDCI on an 05 plate and is Euro 4.

As said previous if you pull the air filter box off and then look at the end of the engine from the off side wing the sensor is located at about the 2 o`clock position on the top of the gearbox. It is under some pipework but you can just see it, You will see the single bolt that holds it in and this can be a bit difficult to remove but just

I own a 2012 Mondeo Mk4. It is a 2.0Tdci (140). i recently got the Engine Malfunction warning. On diagnostics it came up as a DPF regen failure. There has been no loss of power. The garage reset it and I took the car on a good motorway blast and stayed in 4th gear to keep the revs nice and high. About 2 weeks passed and the warning came back on.

This assembly is the DPFE sensor. Remove the 2 rubber hoses from the bottom of the sensor. Attach a piece of rubber hose to the forward most hole in the sensor. Now carefully take a small safety pin and stick it in behind the top wire parallel to the wire. You do NOT want to pierce the wire, only make contact inside the connector.
Ford Mondeo - DPF and oil warning 2.0 tdci - Jes : My 59 Plate Mondeo did the same, 700 miles AFTER the first 12,500 mile service. I took it to the main ford dealer for my area (essex ford) and they changed the oil and filter and applied an ECU update all free of charge.
8V21-12B579-AA is a Ford engineering no., and one site said it fits the Mondeo 2011 2.0TDCI. Ford part code is 1516668, and fordpartsuk.com says it is for Mondeo 1.6TDCI, from Feb. 2011. Ford Galaxy DPF Problems. Ford Galaxy DPF problems are a common problem for owners of the vehicle. The DPF is a component of the exhaust system that deals with nitrogen oxides (NOx). The filter may become clogged or block, which can cause the vehicle to overheat and fail to regenerate. The DPF can be reset by using a special tool called a Mityvac.
